Wallpaper City Guide Munich (2007)
Now more than a decade old, Kevin Voigt’s 50-room hotel is in fantastic shape. The simple style, as seen in the lobby, is highlighted with discreet
dollops of the egg-yolk yellow of the eponymous Dutch liqueur – for
instance, in the lounge curtains or the leather of the breakfast-room
chairs. Small photographic artworks decorate comfortably efficient rooms,
such as the Standard Single. With so much on offer on the doorstep of the
hotel, the compact size of the rooms is no hindrance on a short break. Book
into one to the rear; the tram on the street side could bother some. For a
townhouse alternative, and if chintz is your thing, try nearby sister
property, the Admiral, which has a commendable garden.
